The Full Story

Why Cooking?

I grew up in South Georgia so my roots are deep in southern style hospitality. This hospitality is shown in many forms, anything from opening doors for others, to habitually tacking on "yes ma'am" "no sir" to the ends of my sentences.

Although, my favorite form of southern hospitality has always been the joy of cooking a warm meal for someone you care about. Cooking for them just to show how happy you are to see them. To me this form of hospitality is poetic. So it has always held a close place in my heart. Thus sparking the joy of cooking for others in my young mind. That flame would burn into a career in my adulthood.

The Impact Of Women

As a woman who is also part of the lgbtq community, it's often that I face hardships and hurdles that hold me back. That being said, when I go into a male-dominated field of restaurant ownership I'm destined to face more hurdles

. I'll take the challenge. I've struggled to get where I am now and just the idea of getting a footprint in somewhere is an amazing goal of mine. These challenges urge me to over-exceed my goal and push me further.

I would love to set the same drive for success in young girls as well... set a positive influence and example on them in my career.

Not only that, but to ingrain confidence in the next few generations. Hopefully by seeing a strong woman taking lead in restaurant ownership it will have that impact.
